If I can't get the mower back soon I will have to break down and hire it done. I can't go off to Alaska and leave my yard looking like a hay field. Hmmmmmm. I wonder if I can get a little baler to fit that mower.

Before you "bale" on your lawn, why don't you borrow a mower from one of your neighbours? Clearly their lawns are so well groomed that their mowers enjoy significant down time.
