Microsoft word accepted either bale or bail in this sentence:

"A bale of hay fell off the truck."

Dictionary.com could not find "hay bail" but did find "hay bale."

This is another one of those words that can be used as a verb or a noun, and I sometimes get confused about the spelling. I think I'll just do what I usually do and go ask my editor/secretary/bookkeeper/cook/caregiver/travel agent/wife.
