Ugh. And let's not forget Andy Capp, for those people unfortunate enough to have it in the comics section of their local papers. "The" Andy Capp scenario (there's only one): Andy comes home drunk, late at night, and exchanges some vicious comments with his angry wife which are intended to be taken as dead-pan humor.

Also (and I know I'm going to offend half the civilized world with this one): let's retire Garfield at long last, please oh pleeeeaase? The funniest Garfield has ever gotten in the last two decades was actually in a Bloom County strip, where in the background of one panel you can see a kid reading a paperback titled "Garfield Vol. 18: Garfield Gets Old".

This thread is starting to become similar to Dave Barry's "Bad Song Survey", of which he writes, "Song badness is an issue that deeply concerns Americans." Same thing goes for comics. Who else has some suggestions to add to the list?
