Today, I went onto the computer to check my emails and found Rinkworks in my Favourites folder. I didn't know I'd put it there and I haven't been here for a long time, but recognised so many names, it felt strangely like I had come home or something.
I haven't posted on Rinkworks for almost two years. I know this because I was in my first semester at University when I last posted and in less than a month, I will graduate from the University of East Anglia with a BA in Art History and no fixed life plans other than Make Some Money and Mourn The Loss Of Student Discount.
Everything's changing right now and it's all so weird. I will soon be a graduate, and never need to take an exam or write an essay *ever* again. My lovely flatmate Emily has moved home to Glasgow to get a job there and Beth, another of my flatmates, is moving out at the end of the month too. It's not like I'll never see them ever again but I always thought I was better than this at coping with new situations. Hmm. Obviously not.
My two main choices now are to stay in Norwich with my friends or go home to my lovely family but get a job in Colchester. It's not that Colchester's a bad town, because it really isn't...it is the oldest town in Britain, still has Roman walls, a castle that was rebuilt in 1066 and a beautiful park, but it has a night-life that I equate with Hell On Earth. I have never been to the Hippodrome Nightclub and I never mean to. So my plan is to stay where I am, and am in the process of applying for a job at the cinema in Norwich and I guess I'll just have to see where it goes.
I hope everyone's been keeping well since we were last in touch, and Phil, if you're reading this in an internet cafe in Uganda or somesuch, email our mother, she worries.
