> More than 50 years ago, I graduated from high school. Last week, I watched two of my grandchildren, Matt and Lauren, do the same. Both were in the top of their class (I was in the top 100 of my class.)and without consulting each other, both have opted to go to Maryville College. Both are in pre-med and will likely transfer to the University of Tennessee in a couple of years.

I guess different strokes for different folks. My husband enlisted in the Navy during those years and went to Korea on a minesweeper for 4 years. He served his time and then went back to school and finished his education. My father got called up for the 2nd World War and chose to go into the marines and went to a lttle place called Iwo Jima. My son went into the Navy of his own choice during the Vietnam War and served 4 years on a submarine. WHen he came home he finished his last two years in school. I'm very proud of them all.
