It has an amazing 64KB of RAM and uses a tape drive for storage - and we still have some tapes for it, too. :D I used to love playing Gauntlet on it. Man, that was cool. > > On a slightly different note, I still like composing tunes for the Commodore 64 using an emulator, even though I've never owned one. It's just so cool to see what you can do in three channels with a limited range of commands and stuff. :D
I used to have a C64, also. We only had 2 games for it, though. One was a "word processor" type thingy (it's been so long I don't remember much about them, you have to understand that I was probally 2 or 3 when we had it). The other game was a space ship game, but all I remember about it was you had to refuel after a while and the only way to do it was occasionally there would be a cave like thing at the bottom and you had to navigate through that to get to the refueling station.
Honestly, I didn't know it was a C64 until I explained what I had to the guys I now worked with and they told me that that's what it was. All I remember was that it was a keyboard and the joystick that was with it was just that, a joystick. It had cartridges that loaded either from the side or the back (can't remember). I had it until about 7 or 8 years ago when we found it in our shop and tried it out to see if it worked. I think it did for a few seconds, but then puckered out.
We"I'm in the process of getting an Atari. Man I love being a Video Game collector."dge
