Actually, because it's Lord of the Rings there were actually *two* Extended Editions: one retailed for about $30 (and could be found for about $20), while there was also a gift set that included a bunch of extra fanboy stuff and went for about $70.
If Sam's Club was selling the gift set (with the bookends and stuff) for $20 or $30 less than $70, then that was a really, really good price.
