I just coined a new word. Galf. It refers to a flag displayed backwards. If a flag is attached to a flat surface instead of a pole, there is probably a right and wrong way. The U.S. flag, for example should be displayed with the stars in the upper left corner. Yes, there are exceptions, but normally that is correct. If you display it on the side of a building with the blue field and stars on the right, you have committed a galf. There is also a verb form as in "Be careful not to galf the flag." Notice that galf is flag spelled backwards, which makes things easier for those of us who are spelling impaired.

Now would somebody explain to me why we refer to the creation of a new term, as "coined?" I never did understand that. If it means that you get a coin when you coin a word, then I prefer 1913 Liberty head V nickels.
