If you display it on the side of a building with the blue field and stars on the right, you have committed a galf. > > Howard > > > When I first read this, I thought you were saying something different. When the flag is displayed horizontally, of course the stars should be in the upper left hand corner. That's the whole design of the flag. But I see it displayed a LOT, hung from buildings vertically, or on its side. And even then, the stars are in the upper left hand corner, which to me seems wrong. You'd have to flip the flag upside down, with the correct side facing the building, to get the stars there, instead of just turning it 45 degrees to the right, putting the stars in the upper right hand corner, and the front side facing out. > > Am I nuts? You are right. I guess that is one of the exceptions, but if you hang it so the stripes are vertical, the star field should be at the upper right. If you see them on the left of a vertical flag, somebody galfed.
Another exception is when the flag is a decal on the right side of a vehicle. You wouldn't want the flag flying toward the front, so you can display it with the field to the right and the stripes horizonal. It still looks funny, but they tell me it's OK. Howard
