Hey, at least you're being swallowed by the best damn state university system in the country! GO CSU! Even if we are broke and fees are going to be steadily raised to a hojillion dollars per semester...
> Neither does driving two hours round-trip every day. I *hate* driving.
Uh. Why are you doing this then? Is the closest CSU school to you really an hour away? I drive about 25 minutes to get my school, and I don't mind driving -- if I hated it, I certainly wouldn't want to do more. And you definitely don't want to be driving in *every* day. If you're going to commute, set up a saner schedule: I only ever take classes two days a week. Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday are the common pairs. You may have to be on campus longer each day than you would going 4 or 5 days a week, but it's *much* nicer than trying to do it the other way (especially if you're working too).

I don't want to discourage you from CSU Fresno (I've been up there and it seems like a pretty ruling campus) but if it's so far away and you don't know what exactly you want to major in, have you considered attending a community college? I know that there's some stigma attached to going to a CC and it's not quite as cool as attending a university, but as a guy who spent 4 1/2 years at one figuring out what to major in, I'm glad I did it there at $11/unit (it's a bit more expensive now, I think) instead of the $980/semester the CSUs now charge. You get the added bonus of possibly having one closer to you.
Of course, it sounds like there are a lot of cool programs at CSUF, but it's definitely something to consider if you find you really can't stand the drive.
> Four years and 120 units aren't enough ;-)
You're damn right they're not. I'm going on five years and God-knows-how-many units (I'm a bit slow, eh) and toying with the idea of going to grad school when I get my bachelor's. Academia totally rules. I figure that if I hang out there long enough, I'll wake up as part of the faculty someday, and then they'll pay *me* for showing up everyday.
