LOL! Yep, that's true. "That" meaning all of the above.
> > Neither does driving two hours round-trip every day. I *hate* driving. > > Uh. Why are you doing this then? Is the closest CSU school to you really an hour away?
Yes. We live way out in the boonies (as close to boonies as California's got, anyhow). Squaw Valley, if you know where that is. We have to drive an hour for just about everything.
>I drive about 25 minutes to get my school, and I don't mind driving -- if I hated it, I certainly wouldn't want to do more.
I'm going to try it out for a sememster and see if I can't get used to it. Mom's of the opinion that I just haven't driven enough to be comfortable with it yet. (The fact that she won't let me drive when she's in the car has nothing to do with that, I'm sure.) If it doesn't work out, I will most certainly be getting a dorm or apartment.
>And you definitely don't want to be driving in *every* day. If you're going to commute, set up a saner schedule: I only ever take classes two days a week. Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday are the common pairs. You may have to be on campus longer each day than you would going 4 or 5 days a week, but it's *much* nicer than trying to do it the other way (especially if you're working too). >
That's harder, because of the equestrian team. The mandatory workouts are on awkward days: Monday/Wednesday/Thursday or Tuesday/Thursday/Friday. Plus a meeting on Tuesday. So I'll have to be there four days a week just for that, unless I can work something out with the coach (which is what I'm trying to do right now). Why the heck they can't have a M-W-F option is what I'd like to know.
> I don't want to discourage you from CSU Fresno (I've been up there and it seems like a pretty ruling campus) but if it's so far away and you don't know what exactly you want to major in, have you considered attending a community college? >
I'm pretty much already non-officially-enrolled in CSUF, but from what you say, community college might be worth looking into. It wouldn't be a whole lot closer, but it does sound like a good and comparatively inexpensive place to explore. Think I'll go do some research. > I figure that if I hang out there long enough, I'll wake up as part of the faculty someday, and then they'll pay *me* for showing up everyday. >
That would absolutely rule.

You've given me some much-needed insight. Thanks.
