Then it wakes you up again, prompting you to hit the button again since you're no more rested than you were before, and you begin a long cycle of suchlike nonsense while the Devil sits back and laughs his arse off. That Satan - he's a mean practical joker.

Agreed. That is why I keep my alarm clock on the other side of the room from my bed -- I have to stand up to hit the snooze button. Once I stand up, I'm up. No temptation, no problem.
