This sounded logical to me at first glance, but this doesn't take into account the procreation of both believers and non-believers and the evangelical nature of religion. As long as people are being born there are more people to convert to [religion X]. Not to mention that this could create a whole subset of society where immortality is looked upon as unnatural and wrong. Theoretically, generation upon generation of people could be raised/trained/programmed/whatever to endorse mortality as a rule. Basically what I'm saying is this: I doubt mortality is going anywhere, even in the event that immortality becomes possible.
