Murphy's law strikes again

Well, I got up this morning and reached for my glasses and the lens popped out in my hand. The one thing you can't work on yourself is your glasses, because you can't see what you are doing. I put on my bathrobe and went into the kitchen to get some help. Once the glasses were fixed, I noticed that I had my bathrobe on wrong side out. So I corrected that and poured myself some coffe. Spilled the coffee and scalded my knee slightly in the process. I cleaned up the mess and enjoyed a disaster free breakfast.
Later when I tried to turn on the shower, the knob came off in my hand. I keep an allen wrench in the medicine cabinet for just such emergencies, so it was a minor problem, but by that time I had an feeling it was not going to be a good day. Three minutes later, my elbow hit the knob in the shower and scaled my back, again only a slight scald, but enough to make me wonder what was next. It is difficult to cut yourself shaving with an electric razor, so I got through that part ok.
A couple of hours later, I was walking around the yard and stepped in a hole that wasn't there yesterday. I twisted my ankle a little and it still hurts. I think the hole was the handiwork of a herd of chipmonks who think it is their yard.
I went into the shop and looked around at all my unfinished projects and realized that this was not the day to be working with tools. So I went through the door into the den and cracked my knee on a small table. Fortunately it was the unscaled knee. The safest thing for me to do would be to go upstairs and read the paper. I managed the stairs ok, but when I opened the paper, I discovered that their press was malfunctioning and there was a big chunk missing from the comic page. I may never know what Beetle Bailey was up to today.
The rest of the day has been rather carefree, unless you count a computer that locks up for no reason, a torn jacket that got caught on a door knob, and a broken shoe string.
It is now past 5 pm and I have not attempted to drive, but I did use the chain saw to cut off a couple of limbs over by the garden. In retrospect that was probably the dumbest thing I have done all day, but I got away with it.
Just now, I noticed a thread hanging loose on my shirt button, and I'm wondering if I should pull it.
The only reason I mention all this is that I noticed a feeling of doom in some of today's posts, and I thought maybe someone needed to sweat the small stuff for a while. Howard
