humm. i missed that whole thread.... both of them in fact.... dunno how. i thought i was around in march. but apparently not. ANYway, to totally somewhat change the subject, here's the story behind my name, with some other stuff thrown in as well.
a couple years ago, two friends and i were sitting around trying to decide what animals each other would be if we were animals (did that make any sense?). anyway, we had figured it out for my two friends, and they were sitting there saying, hm, what would Lynette be, what would Lynette be (my real name fits in well here: Lynette Ruth Yorgey) and suddenly one of them said a unipeg! and that's what i became.... a unipeg is a mythological creature, half unicorn, half pegasus... it seemed to fit, as i love horses, but i'm not too normal. everybody's seemed to think that the magical able to fly thing fits me.
but then there's the whole subject of nicknames. i have several... my thing is, once one person uses one, other people can't. i don't want to be known as something other than my name, becuase my name is who i am. however, i have one friend who calls me nett, another who calls me lyn, one who comes up with random ones as the mood fits her (ley, let, letty, unipeglet...), one who calls me leny, one who calls me little one, a few who call me the princess of smilies and the queen of shakespeare... a few who (jokingly, they get killed whenever it happens) refer to me as Lynette You're-gay... but the day everyone starts calling me one thing is the day i outlaw all nicknames. that's just how it works for me, and i don't know why.
