A possibility: Anastasia Romanov was the daughter of the last Tsar of Russia, missing presumed dead along with the rest of her family following the Revolution.

She's remembered slightly better than her siblings because a woman in France once claimed that she was Anastasia and that she'd been smuggled out of the country before the revolutionaries had a chance to do her in; it's since been shown that she couldn't have been the real thing, but that hasn't stopped several movies being made on the "What if she *was*?" premise. The most recent one was a year or two ago, and had a bat in it.
