In the book (although I think it's in the final volume), she sends him a flag and his horse, via a group of his own men who turn up for the battle, along with her brothers Eladan and Elrohir. This would be the battle of Minas Tirith, not Helm's Deep. It seems like that would be the most obvious point for her reappearance.
