Any chess players out there? My brother has been playing chess seriously for three or four years now and less than a month ago got me into it, too. The last time I had played chess was when my brother and I were kids, and we played where the object was to capture all the pieces, not to get the king. (We'd sacrifice the king to keep a more mobile piece, if need be.) I remember we'd sometimes just get down to a queen each, and we'd zing them across the board, every which way, not realizing the only hope either of us had of winning was to make an obvious mistake.

Now I'm starting to sound like Howard. [:-)] Anyway, new to the game as I am, I've been studying the game and playing with a number of other chess enthusiasts during my lunch break at work, and I can hold my own. I still lose more often than I win, but that I win at all and no longer allow easy victories for my opponents is encouraging.

Anyway, I was just curious if there were any other chess players out there. I have some kind of chess-related feature for RinkWorks in the back of my mind, but I have to figure out a unique angle that would make it different from every other chess page out there first. Chess humor? Chess anecdotes? I dunno. How much interest is there in the game out there?
