That didn't work, either. I played most in, oh, third or fourth grade when my mom taught chess club after school. Of course, I was the only lower-elementary kid there, so I was basically a partner to practice on when there was an odd number of kids. > > I still have, to my memory, one win on my record. One. There might have been more, but I can't recall any. Strategy's really not my thing. I can appreciate it, but in chess, I can hardly begin to understand it. > > I do like chess, and play it sometimes still, but it's always on a move-by-move basis. When I'm really creative and actually develop somewhat of a strategy to get a peice, it focuses soley on a small portion of board and my opponent will humor me, letting me use up 90 or so moves to get a knight, while he maneuveres in and checkmates me.
Same here, i liked to play it, but i dont have the courage to come up with bigh strategies or opening-move n°123868 of the Kasparov vs Xmen game. I guess i'm better at checkers. I am intrigued however by the history of chess. I mean the culture behind the game. I read something from back to the 18th or 19th century (i'm not sure) of a chess-*computer*. A machine who could play against a human player. They never found out how it really worked, the 'inventor' took the secret with him in his grave (there were some ideas however). Anyway, i also like all those fancy boards, glass, crystal, .... So, i'll probably have a chessboard in my house later, lol, to fit in the furniture. But play it with real profound thinking, no thank you. Move-to-move basis is my *strategy* too.
