Movies with subtitles are a good way to study a second language.

I rented a couple of old Spanish-language movies with English subtitles and picked up a lot of Spanish. I did a bunch of rewinding and listening to the same sentence over and over again. The movies themselves were forgettable, but it helped me with my Spanish vocabulary. Mexican movies remind me of the old cowboy flicks that I watched back in the 1940's.(admission ten cents!)

Overall, I think dubbing is awful but I have to admit that when Japanese movies are dubbed in English it can be really funny.
