Anchorage has waaaay too many people, too many tourist stops, and not enough quality. I mean, it has its high points, but I'd hardly call the PAC beautiful. I can't wait to hear your impression of that particular city.... > > > > Chr"trying not to be too jealous of all of you who've travelled"is > > I'm sorry, Chris, but you've confused me. PAC? is that Anchorage? I've only spent two days there. it was September of '97. The downtown area was filled with flowers so brilliant they almost glowed. Many were the same flowers that we grow in Tennessee, but twice as big. I talked to a local lady and she said she dreaded the first freeze that would kill the flowers because she wouldn't see them again for many months. I can't think of Anchorage without thinking of flowers. > Howard
PAC: Preforming Arts Center. My little town isn't too big on culta'. So, you just liked the flowers? Not the city? That's OK. I guess I can see that. Oh, and all the hanging plants are brought inside to the municipality greenhouse for the winter. And the perennials DON'T freeze. The flowers fall off before the first freeze, but the plants are fine. Our garden endures, and we're colder than nasty old Anchorage. Did you like anything else? I'm just curious 'cause I can't imagine it being considered beautiful, but it's always neat to hear the opinions of others.
