Actually, from what I gathered from an article on starwars.com a while back...all the novels and such still *is* canon, and then again it isn't. Apparently all Star Wars novels and video games and whatnot from now on will have a little symbol or something on the cover saying, basically, 'This whole story is simply a POSSIBILITY. It *could* happen in the Star Wars universe, but there's probably loads of stuff that'll contradict with this, so just work it out for yourself'.
Which is *extremely* confusing.
