It's relatively easy to reflect what really happened and what are just stories. All of the Star Wars movies, television movies, books, magazines, and comic books? All just stories. Isn't it possible to just read a book and appreciate it for what it is?
Speaking of books based on popular properties, I just saw the Men In Black 2 novelization at Target. Which makes me wonder -- who would want to read this? Moviegoers who blindly go to whatever movie is heavily advertised don't strike me as the type of people that would spend their free time reading. (If they do read, they're probably buying the books you find at airport bookstores. You know the kind -- the ones with the big swastika on the cover and a resourceful hero saving the word from nuclear destruction.)
