Couple of points about this...first, I didn't even realised the extension .mil existed, and second, isn't that the most pretentious header for a web page ever seen? Sorry to anyone who really likes that page, but I found it very difficult not to burst out laughing...
Thanks, Philbee! This opens up a whole new realm of humour online. I spent some time looking at military pages from various countries, and darn it, they were all hilarious. The US rates highly for its "bird flying around holding red, white and blue stuff", but I think your own country's "woman in toga with silly hat and breastplate" is right up there too. All right, Britannia or Britomart is not so often used today, but look what's replacing her on the site below. The Royal Air Force has a little birdie with a crown floating in the air over its head. The Army is even better, with its cartoon lion balancing on a crown with two swords stuck through its butt. And look no further than the terrific crest in the top left corner of the page. If there's anything funnier than a lion and a unicorn each balancing on one leg while holding up a shield, I just don't know what it is.
