What kind of carrier is a herky bird? Or C5-A?

My uncle-in-law Howie has fulfilled a life-long dream and he's just completed small-craft flying lessons. He wants to become a courrier-cargo pilot eventually. Actually, he learned how to fly instrument-only *before* doing visual-rules because he played so much MS Flight Simulator. More proof that playing 'puter games prepares you for the real world. :)

Anyway Howie needs to buy a pair of good headphones/headsets -- since being properly able to hear Tower instructions is a matter of life and death, obviously. The good headsets are about $1000 though. Is there any way to get these at discount, or used or something? Just asking in case anyone knows; thanks.
