I go the opposite way here, I don't know why the * was included as a punctuation mark -- I've never witnessed a star strengthen an otherwise weak sentence. But I hesitate to say this, for it seems that the * is a crowd (albeit a different and quantitatively lesser crowd than the ! hooligans) favorite. Which I guess will bring me to a question: Did y'all choose your favorites based on the mark's grammatical purpose, it's visual pleasure, or by some seemingly individual criteria? I chose " because they remind me of two white bunny eyes in a snow-storm.
