Let's say that Jean-Claude Frederick Glauck-Dingle-Bendar-Hackul is Roman Catholic and goes through Confirmation. Now Jean-Claude Frederick Glauck-Dingle-Bendar-Hackul's name is Jean-Claude Frederick Bartholomew Glauck-Dingle-Bendar-Hackul. Egad!

I took my husband's last name when I got married. I wanted to, and what exactly is the point of feminism if you don't get to make the choices you wish? His last name is interesting, and as a teacher, I knew that it would be easier when we (hopefully) had children for people to track me down.

You'd be AMAZED at the flack I caught. Apparently, I'm a throw-back to the '50's, and I've sold out the sisterhood. I fail to see how this affects anyone but me and my husband (who, incidentally, didn't care), but everyone and her sister felt compelled to give me their opinion. It was weird.

Hyphenating works, but, as above, at some point, the wheels are going to fall off.

te (I go by "Ms" just to really confuse the issue) ach
