How I learned to love and hate something (in the same week)

A couple days ago, the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees in the World Series 4-3. I thought this was a great thing. I hate seeing the same team win every yeah. I'd rather see the underdog win rather than the favorite. That's why I liked it when Arizona managed to pull out the victory. But this post is less about the World Series.

Today, Major League Baseball voted to eliminate two teams from the league. Although they haven't haven't named the teams yet, there are a couple floating around. And none angers me more than the Minnesota Twins. Let's forget the fact that I'm a Minnesotan and have grown up listening to the highs (World Series wins in '87 and '91) and lows (the crappy seasons they'd had up to this year). It would be a travesty to lose this team. They've had a long history of great players. Harmon Killebrew. Rod Carew. Kirby Puckett. And we're about to lose this team because the owner doesn't want to own it anymore and he doesn't get the stadium that he wants. The Twins are still able to pull in the crowds. Heck, this year they were in contention to win the division until the final few weeks.

And the kicker: if the Twins are removed, then the Milwakee Brewer's games will air in this three-state area: Minnesota, North and South Dakota. And who owns the Brewers? Bud Selig, the commissioner of MLB.
