I'm running XP Professional, build 2600. It's a lot better, gaming-wise, than Win2K. It's pretty stable, and I haven't gotten any BSODs, except when I'm running lame Radeon drivers (read as "any Radeon drivers"). All my games seem to run fine. My brother plays TFC and Empire Earth under XP all the time. In fact, the only thing that doesn't seem to work perfectly is the DOS emulation. It'll run DOS programs, but there isn't any sound. Meaning I can't play Loom. Suck.

With the gross instability of ME, I'd say it would be worth it to upgrade to XP, or sooner or later you'll be working on something really important and your screen will turn that lovely shade of blue that means you've just lost what you have been working on for three hours.
