I'm shortsighted and I've been wearing corrective lenses for 21 years. When I moved to contacts from glasses six years ago, it was the best thing I've ever done. Your peripheral vision comes back, there's no lump of metal and glass on your nose and ears, plus you can see when it rains. I wear them in the shower with no trouble and have a strict cleaning and disinfecting regime.

It amazes people to find I wear the hard gas permeable type as almost everyone I know couldn't get on with them. My optometrist says I have the most desensitized eyes he's seen.
