On a forum I visit quite often, a guy I've never seen there before posted the following, with the title "As American as apple pie or hypocracy"

Here's the message, so you can appreciate.

"Doug Black AP English Response 9/30/01 In response to "Hezbollah Not on List", an editorial in the LA Times:

Don't get me wrong. I am not against our (America's) reaction to the World Trade Center attacks, and I am just as angry about this as everyone else is, but there are two sides to every story, and it's time someone took an unbiased look at some hypocrisy that became especially visible after an attack by one man dressed in police uniform on a Swiss council, killing at least fourteen people. What? You heard nothing about that? That's what I am talking about. I haven't seen or heard anything about this attack, which is a huge affair in Switzerland, on any radio or TV channel. In fact, I wouldn't have known about this at all if not my father was in Switzerland on sabbatical and called me about it. Why was this not reported on? America doesn't care about terrorist actions/everyday carnage unless it involves a very close ally, or our ourselves. Furthermore puzzling is that Bush said we would go after terrorists and those nations that harbor them. He also said that we would "freeze the financial assets of not only the terrorists but also the assets of those nations that fund them", but guess what--Hezbollah, a terrorist group that killed over 250 Marines in Lebanon, is not on this list. What makes that odd? The same countries that fund that terrorist organization are part of the group of countries requested by us to help in the fight against terrorism. What else is there? We fund terrorists all the time. You or I may not, but many people in the US do. We fund the IRA, also known as the Irish Republican Army. A group who routinely bombs and kills citizens of Britain both in Ireland and England. The majority of funding does indeed come from the black boxes on the counters of "Police" bars in the US. But nobody does anything about it. That's hypocrisy at it's finest.

Now, I ignored the opinions for a moment (We've been arguing about that for like a months, now, so we're tired of it, and he didn't bring anything new) and made a comment that his 'AP English grammar' wouldn't have gotten him in my ESL-LA class. To wich he replied...

"On a good day you're a half-wit. You remind me of drool. You are deficient in all that lends character. You have the personality of wallpaper. You are dank and filthy. You are asinine and benighted. You are the source of all unpleasantness. You spread misery and sorrow wherever you go."

Now, remember, this is the first time this guy post on this forum. Three minutes later, he posted again :

"I would also like to add; what meaning do you expect your delusionally self-important statements of unknowing, inexperienced opinion to have with us? What fantasy do you hold that you would believe that your tiny-fisted tantrums would have more weight than that of a leprous desert rat?

I will waste no time on you. A flame is all you deserve. "

Can you see the "I messed up and now I have to make up with more 'sophisticated' insults!" trend? Yes, I know, I shouldn't comment about people's grammar. Mine is already pretty horrible - But one of the first thing I do whenever I start posting somewhere is to apologise and inform peoples about my status. This guy posts for the first time, doesn't even capitalize (Sp?) his nick, flaunts his 'AP English student' status... And write such things like "Our ourselves" and "wouldn't have known about this at all if not my father was in Switzerland ".

Oh well. I needed to vent, I guess.

Etie"Only deserves a flame :-P"nne
