Just finished watching Bush's speach, and for a guy that I did not support (at all) during the election, I was incredibly impressed. He has handled this situation incredibly well (as I feel he did with the Chinese spy plane earlier in the year) and I think it's worth noting that the guy isn't the moron that I took him for.

Beyond that, I agreed with him pretty much universally. I am, however, quite scared at the prospects for the future. He promised a prolonged campaign against terrorism. Such a campaign is a necessary evil. But... I wish more than anything it wasn't.

No one knows for certain what the future holds at this moment, be it more terrorist attacks, long military campaigns, etc. But it will not be an easy time. The only thing that offers me much comfort is the fact that my country, along with the rest of the free people of the world, is stronger than those that we oppose. I know that in the end we'll triumph -- I just don't look forward to the journey.

Stephen
