I rarely post to (or even read) the forum these days but I've got big news that I don't really want to tell anyone who actually has a connection to the news yet. So I'll tell all of you instead.

I got a letter in the mail on friday. It came from my high school and said:

On behalf of the staff and graduating students I invite you to be Valedictorian at the upcoming Commencement Excersises to be held at the school on Friday, October 19, 2001.

I was somewhat surprised. I thought that a friend of mine would be Valedictorian for sure.

My parents are excited. I'm scared.

I have to write a speech
