I'm curious to see/hear what other people
have experienced for methods of valedictory
selection.

At my high school, I believe the valedictorian
was the person who had maintained the
highest grade point average throughout all
four years of high school, not just during the
final year.

We also had a "saluditorian" which I assume
was the "runner up" with the next highest GPA.

The year I graduated, there was a tie for
valedictorian, so we had two.
