Hail Thee,

Say, didnt we talk about math just now ? Let me tell you that math is a very handy tool when you're a German in a strange land, where liquid is measured in gallons. Since you appear to be in America this means one gallon is 3.7853 liters. For some obscure reason when you're in England a gallon apparently is an amazing 4.5459 liters.

> I was in Maryville the other day and the BP station had unleaded regular for 129.9 cents a gallon.

Phew, what a challenge, lets see if I get this right. The conversion factor from USD to German Marks is aproximately 2.2, so thats about 2.83 Marks for 3.7852 liters .... WOW, that is cheap, you are paying 0.75 German Marks per liter. Holy Cow ! Here in Germany 1 liter of unleaded standard is 2.1 Marks. Here we go backwards : thats aproximately 1 dollar per liter, which means that we Germans pay 3.7 dollar per Gallon.

I think I am living in the wrong country ...

> I really like that 18 gallon tank, which is rather large for a four cylinder car.

Indeed it is (stated after calculating that Howards tank holds 68.13 liters). My own "Opel Astra" can hold only 52 liters (13.74 gallons).
