This reminded me of a story in the news here a couple of years ago: A woman was attacked by a moose. She feared for her life, as the moose tried to gore her with its antlers. On a whim, or instinct, or whatever it was, she pinched it in the nose. That is, she put the thumb in one nostril and the other fingers in the other and squeezed. The moose jumped back, looked at her with a startled and confused look, and ran away. It probably saved her life, at least she avoided serious injuries.
