Ah, yes, The Redwall series. I read many of those while I was in middle school. How many books are there now? As I recall, I enjoyed them immensely at the time.

However, after I had read all the Redwall books that were published at the time (so far as I knew,) I felt as if the plot each book was nearly identical. I shared this with a friend of mine two years my junior who was reading the series at the time. He adamantly denied my accusations of unoriginality. About a year later, though, he revealed to me that he felt the same way after reading through the books.

Of course, I'm sure that Mr. Jacques (is that spelled right?) has written many more by now. Hopefully they don't all follow the same formula.

Please don't think that I'm "dissing" you, Matthias. While I was reading the series, I was kept on the edge of my seat and read them late into the night. Even though I don't think I could re-read them, I still remember them fondly.
