A Question About Depression

At what point should a person consider himself/herself "depressed"? I am just wondering...I've been feeling really down lately for pretty much no reason. Well, I'm swamped with schoolwork, but I dunno. It feels like every time I talk to someone, they ignore me and don't listen. I dunno...I haven't felt this way since 8th and 9th grade, and I have no idea why I feel this way again. It feels really bad. I love being happy, but it's hard lately. What causes people to feel depressed? Seriously, it's not like I have any major problems. It's not the weather...I love rain. Umm...I dunno. Just looking for knowledge, I guess. Or something. I dunno. I feel depressed, but maybe I'm not. I dunno what "depression" really is. I just feel heavy inside lately, and everything makes me upset and feel like bawling. By "heavy" I mean literally...it's like something heavy's sitting on my shoulders, weighing me down. And my throat always has this weird lump in it. *shrug*
