Yeah, if you say so. Though I'm a bit biased -- I've only ever seen the Americanized SM and so perhaps I shouldn't criticize SM outright, but I still don't dig it. Of course, it is intended for younger girls..er, wait, you fit that demographic don't you? Okay, then you can like it. Heck, older people can like it but it bugs me when so many people act as if it is representative of animation (Japanese or otherwise) as a whole. It's got less-than-stellar animation, weird and sort of hokey plotlines and really isn't intended to be much more than a fun little show. I don't get the fascination myself.

As for kicking any mecha show's butt, well you need to watch Escaflowne or Evangelion (and maybe Macross Plus, but I'd still rather watch the Macross portion of Robotech than SM).
