I'm almost certain I didn't. When you leave a game in the middle, you can just come back to the front page and log in and it will pick up where you left off, as you know - and that's what I prefer to do, rather than trying to go back.

Another thing to point out is that this didn't happen twice in a row, it happened again after several turns, so your scenario is impossible in this instance.
