I have steel needles up inside the root canals of my front teeth. When I was a kid, I knocked my front teeth badly by running full speed into a wall with my eyes closed (it's a long story) and a few years ago I had to have root canal work as a very delayed result. Part of it involved sticking needles up into the bored-out root canals so they could X-ray them and see whether they had drilled through to the jaw yet. My dentist somehow managed to break the needles off, way up inside my teeth, so there they remain. It looks very cool on the dental X-rays.
