Ah yes, probably for dissenting from the Pope, never mind the Scripture. Remember that this was before the KJV was commissioned in the early 17th century, making it possible for the Word to get to every English-speaking person.

Considering that the prerequisite is that you have to consciously accept Him as Savior, I doubt it. You can, however, feel as if you're not saved and still be.
