As some of you might already know, I am on vacation this week visiting some of our fellow Rinky-Dinks. I thought I'd go ahead and share some of my experiences, since so many chat people have already asked. Hope you all enjoy...

Saturday:
I took off at 9 a.m. for New York. The trip was fairly smooth. Much of it was straight driving and no real big surprises. This was good because this was my first ever trip in a car, across the country, by myself. And of course meeting people I've only talked to on the computer was an added new thing. Hehe. Anyway, I got to Elmira, New York at about 6 p.m. I called Darien's room and he and Minamoon came down to meet me. Just so you know, I did call them by their real names, and no, the adjustment to that was not really that hard. Although Minamoon did keep introducing me as famous, but I think that she was being funny, so it was cool with me. :)

Anyway, we went to dinner at their dinning hall, and then we went bowling. Now, I swear up and down that I'm not a good bowler, but I shouldn't have said that because I beat them at both games. Hehe. I really hadn't played in at least a year or two.. Oh well. Sorry Darien, I had to mention it. :P I will spare them from posting the scores. Hehe.

After bowling, we went to a coffee shop, which was cool, because we don't really have many (or any) in Ohio. They played some chess there, and I played cards. Then we headed over to the college radio station. This is where I met Speedball.. and some of their other friends too. While they finished the show we talked in Minamoon's room, and then went back, got their friends, and congregated in Minamoon's dorm's lounge, or whatever it's called. Hehe. There we played a game that's name starts with a Z, but I can't remember it. The game was a blast, even though I seemed to stink at guessing what the others were thinking, because I didn't really know them all.

Sunday

I slept in Minamoon's room that night. We didn't go to bed until 3, but I still managed to wake up at 8. Ugh. No biggie though. When we were up, we called Darien, and went to meet him at brunch. It was nice to sit and chat, and Speedball met us there. Then the four of us went back to Minamoon's room, and chatted some more. It was so cool to meet them all finally. I really enjoyed, and that made me less nervous about the rest of the trip.

One thing I didn't mention was the fact that it was soooooo hot there. We were all sweating like pigs. Hehe. Hope I didn't smell. :)

Ok. After we chatted a while, I had to go. I didn't want to be driving in the dark. So, at about 1 p.m. I hopped back in my car and headed for New Hampshire. Now, I hoped the ride would be as smooth as last time, but they have these things called TOLL BOOTHS, which I hate. Now, I'm not dumb, I have heard of them before, but they were still new to me. So, I had a tough time with those.

Eventually I got to New Hampshire though, and called Sam and Leen. The said when I got closer I could call them and they'd meet me someplace. I agreed, but the drive was so easy, and the directions Sam had given me earlier last week were so good, that I made it to their house with ease. So, I called them, and told them I was sitting in their driveway. They laughed and came out to meet me.

That night we chatted, started a game of chess, then got into the movie collection. We watched Dead Again, which was a great movie. Very funny, and plotfull.. if that's a word.

Also, met Lady.. she's a really cute puppy, but I'm limited as to what I can do with her. I'll get to that later though.

Monday

Sam took the day off work to go around with us. First thing that morning was Leen's riding lesson. It was awesome to watch, and Leen looks really cool on her horse. And the horse it really cool too. I was excited to see it finally. Then we went shopping in downtown Portsmouth. It was a lot of fun, and I got a book of poetry while we were there.

Then we travelled a little bit, and got to see the beach. It was obviously too cold to do anything but walk on it, but it was still pretty cool to see. And I got some good pictures.

That night we went to Newicks.. a great seafood place here. I had shrimp, but Leen had something I'd never seen before. Steamers (a.k.a. Steamed Clam). Well, Sam made me try them. The were the grossest things I've ever eaten in my entire life. Slimey and just plain nasty. Ugh. I'll have to get Sam back for that someday.

Anyway, that night it was back to movies. I had brought Nothing to Lose, so we watched that. Then we started Noises Off. That's a good movie, but I was so tired that I had to go to bed. So, we stopped half-way through.

If I remember correctly, this was also the day Leen had me start playing Zelda64. It was fun, but I wouldn't find out how addicting it was until later.

Tuesday

Leen had to get one of her teeth pulled, and Sam went back to work, so I watched Schindler's List. Then when Leen got home, I played Zelda while she watched and guided me through it. We played forever, but I killed Boss Monster number 1. :)

This was the day I learned why Lady can't be petted too often by me. Leen had her in her lap and she leaned over to let me pet her. When I did, Lady peed on Leen. Thankfully she had a blanket on, so she didn't get Leen wet, but still.... That's why I can't do too much with Lady. Hehe. Poor Leen.

That night we finished Noises Off, and that was it for the night.

Wednesday

Today was an all Zelda day! Hehe. I slept in, so when I woke up, we played until Sam got home almost. I enjoyed it though. Vacations are all about relaxing for me, and that's what we were doing. Although we realized that for some reason I can't make the character run in a straight line. Made for some very funny times. I died and restarted about 20 times. But, I killed Boss Monster number 2. Yay!

When Sam got home, he was waiting for a phone call, so I played on the computer while Sam started Zelda. That was the first time Sam had ever played Zelda. Leen said she doesn't like the way he plays. Hehe. All Sam wanted to do was kill everything, and everyone. It was pretty funny, and he didn't get far at all, since he'd cut down the signs before he read them.

The phone call never came, and so we headed off to Chilli's. The funniest thing happened. Sam was eating a salad, and all of a sudden he yells "Hey, there's CORN in here!". And he wasn't just making a joke either. There really was a piece of corn in the salad. I think that's the first and probably only time, that line could be said in real life. It was too funny.

That night we watched The God's Must Be Crazy. That movie is weird at the beginning, but extremely funny all the way through. I laughed a lot.

Then it was time to try something new. Moxie. I was nervous about this, because of all that's been said about it. But, I tried it, and you know what? It wasn't all that bad. I'm probably the only person in America who thinks that, but it really wasn't. I don't think I'd drink it everyday, and I surely couldn't down the stuff, but I could drink it. I think I kinda disappointed Sam and Leen because they wanted a bad reaction, but they got that with the steamers.. so they can't complain. Hehe.

Anyway, we started to watch The God's Must Be Crazy Part 2, but I kept nodding off.. so I suspect we'll finish it tonight, and start another movie.

That's about it for now. I'll try to make the next entry sooner, so I don't have to write so much in one sitting. Hope you all enjoyed, and let me know if there's anything you want to know while I'm here. Hehe.
