Could this be the stupidest TV ad ever?

I just saw something on TV that is a really good example of why I don't watch a lot of TV.

It was an ad for a particular brand of non-fat milk. In such ads, it's fairly standard to compare the qualities of the product with, say, the competitor's equivalent product. Or with normal milk. Or something which is, to put it bluntly, realistically comparable.

They compared it to an APPLE.

That's right. An apple on one side of the screen, a glass of milk on the other side. Would you believe it? The milk contains all sorts of nutrients which the apple does not. You get more of your daily calcium requirements from a glass of milk than from an apple! Wow! Niacin, too! And check out all those other B vitamins! That apple just totally sucks when it comes to being able to provide dairy-product nutrients!

What the heck are these people on?
