Snow. White. Hey!

A day ago, an age ago. The air had been warm and dry for weeks. The tulips and crocuses popped themselves half a foot out of the ground. The robins and starlings had polite territorial disputes over stuff growing in my garden. Some of my neighbours decided to dethatch their lawns and fertilize the grass. Come yesterday, WHAMMY! Seventeen inches of wet snow dumped in 24 hours. Now I have hours of shovelling fun and probably a bunch of dead tulips. Why oh why did I even think of writing a poem about Spring?
