I was worried when the night started, and I was wrong on the first five Oscars awarded. I still wasn't sure that I even broke even, wins for losses, by the end of the night, until I tallied up the votes just now. This year's Oscars have been called the most unpredictable in ages by many, despite a lock for Best Picture, and Billy Crystal even said so on the air. I was thinking it might not be after all, until the show actually started.

Here are the results of the contest:

Trip & Sam: 10 of 18 correct
imaginari: 9 of 18 correct
Tranio: 7 of 18 correct
Darien & gambit: 6 of 18 correct
Luisa: 5 of 18 correct

(Tranio had 3 optional guesses correct; Trip had 2, and Darien and imaginari each had one.)

Roger Ebert didn't officially enter (darn!), but he guessed in 14 of the 18 categories and got 9 right. He did not make official guesses in the four technical categories (Editing, Sound, Sound Effects, and Visual Effects) but did say that "The Matrix" would "do well" in these. He was right. "The Matrix" won all four. Ebert also guessed in 2 of the 5 optional categories and was correct with one.

Thanks to all who participated!
