Well I'm back, for this post at least. Past couple weeks have been rough, I don't wanna go into it. Nice to see some new faces here, fresh meat for the grinder. Anyway, here's the place to name your fave movie of the year. Obviously we all have different tastes, so don't put down anyone elses choices, but to back your choice up, provide a good explanation as to why you think it's the best.

My choice: The Matrix

The first thing a lot of people say is it's original, but it's really not. It just steals a bunch of japanime and manga cliches. It's strength in that it takes the BEST from japanime, and for the first time, puts it into a real film, with real actors and special fx. The storyline (I think) is decent, but the STYLE and MOOD sets it apart. And you gotta love the direction and acting (of the AGENTS. man oh man they were creepy).

runner ups:

Three Kings: made me laugh, think, even a little sad, and I marveled at some great action. definitely worthwhile

Sleepy Hollow: while it failed to scare, the acting and sets are just breathtaking. Christina Ricci, phew!
