Ugh. Depressed again. posted by zK on Monday, June 12, 2006, at 16:22:31:
I'm glad that I can be even the tiniest bit helpful. Depression isn't something that anyone should have to go through alone, though I know that the experience itself can make you feel terribly isolated. You've got a whole bunch of people here who care, and I hope that that makes a difference.
That said, this definitely sounds like something more serious than just the blues. I agree with Sara -- you seem to be at a point where talking to a professional counselor might be a good thing. If you haven't told your mom or your dad how you're feeling, I think that you should do so. Even if it's difficult, they could be an added source of support for you, and they can help arrange for you to see a counselor. If you really don't think that you can tell them for whatever reason, do a Google search for something like "depression free counseling" and the name of your town, or call a hotline. Here are some that could help:
Boys Town National Hotline (24 hours) 800-448-3000 National Youth Crisis Hotline (24 hours) 800-442-HOPE (442-4673) NDMDA Depression Hotline - Support Group 800-826-3632 Crisis Help Line 800-233-4357 Suicide & Depression Hotline Covenant House 800-999-9999 National Youth Crisis Hotline 800-448-4663
Always remember that you've got tons to look forward to in life and that there are plenty of people, online and elsewhere, who care for you and are hoping that you feel better.
*hugs*
