I suppose I am in the clear here, because I only minored in English. But that got me some useful jobs. I know, for example, that I was picked as a substitute proof reader at the Daily News Journal because of that minor. It also may have made me the choice for a position as a science teacher, simply because they needed somebody who could also handle 7th grade English for one period a day. The thinking was that anybody could teach science, not considered important at that time, but English teachers had to know how to read. Howard
