You know, come to think of it, I think that's why I prefer the Summer Olympics. Ski jump? If you go the furthest without turning into a giant snowball on your landing you should win.

Any sport with "judging" is open to corruption; some moreso than others. I think fencing and equestrian events are more honest than figure skating and to a lesser degree, gymnastics and boxing. Indeed, most of the summer events are measured (check out those crazy pole-vaulters!).

I could go on, but I think Dave summed it up pretty well.
